To make your own volunteer program, you choose one or more of our local communities for one or more weeks at each project. We help you making your volunteer program or practical studies program depending of the needs of each community. Some of the main activities are:
The essential contribution is your volunteer report
Education: To help teaching languages (predominantly English) to guides of ecotourism projects and to pre-school groups.
Tourism: To develop features such as walking trails and identifying ecotourism opportunities in the region.
Environment: Tree planting, improving waste land, protecting biodiversity and natural resources.
Health: Help to develop native medicine and nutrition, giving medical attention at local clinics and working in public health.
Culture: Archeology; recording local customs, saving ancestral languages, traditions, handicrafts and traditional dancing and cooking.
Sports:To help developing sport activities in small communities.

After your community experiences, you write a report of your experiences which is published at the Ecotrackers Network website. You are able to become an international promoter of community ecotourism and a member of the Fundacion Ecotrackers Network if you want to work with us in your country .
Please note that volunteers should speak basic Spanish in order to communicate effectively in the community. Ecotrackers Network can help with a basic spanish level through basic and interactive Spanish classes.
The volunteers need determination and a good health.
Volunteers will need to contribute the following:

Travel: Volunteers must pay for their own traveling costs to and from a community which differs from the community where you are going
Living Expenses: Approximately USD 8 - USD 10 per day for basic food, lodging, and a guide in the community.
